We lost our beloved Honey yesterday at age 25. She enjoyed a 2 year show career in SSHBEA in which she was undefeated, winning both the 4 yr old grand championship and the world grand championship in the same night. She went on to produce 16 foals for us, many of which have been show horses. We were blessed to have such a special mare for 25 years. She gave us her best and she will always have a special place in our hearts.

They have outdone themselves..again!!

What is a Tennessee Trailrider? What makes them an oddity as compared with trailriders from the other 49 states? I swear, we got the SSHBEA newsletter and there it was: A note about voting.....voting,...

The SSHBEA we got from Amanda back in the winter. Whata Honey got a 1st place in the OPEN class- 1-3 years old, mares and geldings, AND Reserve Champion Open Horse. This was the first time that a gaited horse ever won a ribbon at the Delaware state fair that I know of. She is by Teen Wolf out of Money Can't Buy Honey.

Late yesterday afternoon, the Spotted Saddle Horse world lost one of it's greatest contributing members, the McNatt's Mr. Bojangles....... May he rest in peace and we send our sincerest sympathy to the family as well as to all of those lives that "The Old Man" touched......there will never be a horse or soul like him again.

I'm having a terrible time coming up with a name for my colt. His sire is Lethal Wolfe (Whata Wolf x Alen's Lethal Lace) and his dam is Lethal Sparkle (Alen's Lethal Weapon x Peddler's Affair). Thanks to Austin he has been nicknamed "Moon Pie", so he has a barn name...he just needs a snazzy name for his registration papers. I'm usually pretty at coming up with names, but I'm stuck on this one.

Does anyone know who the judges will be for the mid season show? I know Mike Civils passed away and I heard the David Oliver was "relieved of his duties". That leaves Travis Kelly. Are they replacing the other 2 and if so, who with?

Kind of interesting the SSHBEA Fall Championship is at the Calsonic on Sept 29-Oct 4 and the National Walking Horse Association National Championship is September 30 -Oct 4 at Miller. The NWHA offers in addition to the Walking and Racking classes, Spotted Saddle Horse preliminary and Championship Classes. (No bands allowed) www.nwha.com

If you are in the area for the SSHBEA show, stop by and take a look. You might like what you see.

Why aren't there more Spotted Saddle Horses participating in/at the FOSH shows? Are these horses/exhibitors un-able to pass the DQP and/or the FOSH rules? Or is it that all the sshbea show-able horses reside only in one small area?

I have a 2 yo colt that has a blaze and one white "spot" at the coronet band on one back hoof. This spot doesn't go all the way around the hoof. His daddy is registered spotted but not Tobiana. Can I have him registered spotted?

Sabrina Dunivan's Mother

Sharing the loss of Sabrina Dunivan's mother. It is my understanding she passed away Friday due to the overwhelming of cancer. In just finding out last yesterday afternoon, I felt this might be a quick way to let others know of her loss. Sabrina, Clay, & Riley our thoughts and prayers are with you as well as granting you the strength to get through this time as well as possible. I believe the funeral is today but I am sure Sabrina will appreciate hearing from friends at anytime.

For those that don't already know, Mike Civils passed away this morning due to an apparent heart attack.

He will be missed greatly by all that had the privilege to have known him. Arrangements are still pending as this was so sudden.

My thoughts and prayers are with Barbara and Jimmy during this very difficult time.

and i'm able to reg. him as long as one parent is spotted right?
