What happened with the show chairman and the judges?

I don't now what happened. I do know that the same judge, judged the classes that I saw. For sure the crowd was down from last year as well as the
entries.

I read on Walking Horse Chat that Mack sent Terry Stone home during the show.

Nancy, girl, CONGATS! I know you must be so thrilled and honored! We are proud of you and Petunia (the goat) send a big "Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!"
Why would Terry Stone get sent home? What was Patrick Thomas riding? What was Barney riding? |

Patrick was riding Celine Neon. Barney was riding a Secret Weapon horse (can't remember it's name), but it was really good. He had a very pretty
canter too.

Yes, from what I've seen, Charlie still trains. He's been doing very good with some walking horses, not padded.
Only three horses in the stake class? That isn't good. Were the "trail" classes as full as usual? |

Terry was NOT sent home by anyone. He voluntarily sat out the last few classes on Saturday night due to a disagreement with our president about the way a class
was tied. As far as I know he was not reprimanded by the show chair or the judges chair. He has both his SSHBEA and NHSC licenses and is MORE than qualified to
judge any SSHBEA, Walking or Racking show.

>>>due to a disagreement with our president about the way a class was tied.
Why???? Did he tie a sabino that he shouldn't have!?!?!?!?

From what I understand he thought the 4th place horse should have been tied. (My horse won the class-- and YES he's a sabino with a tobiano parent.) The
4th place horse was a WC last year, but I think what a horse has won in the past should not be relevant - it should be based on what happened in the ring on
the night in question. I am not sure what the exact problem was with the way the class was tied. It is also my understanding that no rules were violated and
that Jimmy Taylor (head of judges) has received no complaints.

OMG. There is something SO wrong when an association president steps in, in the MIDDLE OF A SHOW and has it out with a judge because they disagree on a tie.
PLEEEAASE SSHBEA members!!!! Get the control freaks OUT OF OFFICE!!!!!! Boycott the shows and the association until there is a fair leadership that cares about
ALL the members!!!

I didn't mean any disrespect to Terry, or question his ability to judge. Someone at the show was saying that he lost his license w/sshbea several years ago and that they had asked Jimmy Taylor or someone on the judges committee how he was able to judge. They were told that he did NOT have a SSHBEA license still, but was able to judge due to his walking license. This is just what I heard. I don't know if there was any truth to it at all. Jenn, I agree that what a horse has done in the past has nothing to do with how it should tie in a present. |

Wendy, I find it even more wrong that the SSHBEA president was not only not present at the show on Friday night but was JUDGING a walking horse show that
night.....Nice....very nice......shows where the priorities are.

Terry retired his SSHBEA license a couple of years ago when the rules were changed about licensing judges. He either had to give up the NHSC or SSHBEA license.
He kept his NHSC card and is therefore eligible to judge SSHBEA shows since we use both SSH and Commission judges.
To my knowlege, he has never had his license "taken away" from him. While I realize not everyone agrees with every tie in every class at every show, there is a point where as a representative of the organization a line should be drawn when it comes to public behavior. Even though the show was small, I thought the quality of horses (for the most part) was pretty good and some of the pleasure classes were very competitive. |

From the pictures on Jack Greene's site, the horses looked to be very nice and everyone looked like they were having fun........ I am glad all were safe!
