It all depends on the shape of the mare. If she is used to being ridden everyday I would say that you could ride her up until a few weeks before she foals. But...I wouldn't put a 300lb person on her back at that point

She is a padded racking horse. I'm sure it would be alright to ride a flat shod mare a little longer.
