The horseshow gods are against me.... |
Lead | |
|
OK, so after having a baby and the struggles with that I have finally been able to start showing again. But (and that's a big but - both figuratively and
literally!) it seems that the horseshow gods are against me! One of my horses' foot cracked right along the nailhead line and he lost oh let's say 2
inches of foot (motion went from above level to barely stepping over a stick), and now my other horse got squirrely in the lines the other night and stepped
right out of her shoe! My farrier can't get here until Sunday (which is my son's birthday and Father's day) and another farrier I found stood me
up and my husband and I tried to put it on but chickened out (you would just have to know the horse) and now I just feel like there is no light at the end of
the tunnel. You know how much I'm gonna freak out asbtwh if I walk up to the stall and find she has pawed off all of her toe.... Is this something all
moms go through when they try to start showing again? Is this just my guilt for my own selfishness (which I admit I am very selfish)? Anybody else have bad
horse kharma? If so when does it end???

okay here goes (keep in mind i have no 2 legged children) the kharma comes from within, tell yourself I WILL SHOW MY HORSE,I WILL SHOW MY HORSE and then have
dear hubby take care of the little one while you get to ride/show, tee,hee
wrap that hoof and get her to the farrier, no one wants it more for you than i do :) |

SusieW thats a good idea and it works but just to b on the safe side put a paw chain on that foot just as an extra precaution

OK, now just to foul things up even more, I have broken my ankle (same ankle now third time) and will probably be casted etc for the next 3 weeks to a month.
We'll find out more details tomorrow at the orthopods. Right now I'm just in pain and in a splint. Why me - aargh!!

Bless your heart. Good luck on mending. Seems like when I get ready for a big show, I'm hurt, broke ribs, arm, etc.

Thanks, Duck tape the cure all. I used a old leg rap and then tape it good.

Awwww, no horse show gods or karma working against you. Crap happens and it just seems that it all happens at once. You'll get through it and past it.
Everything happens for a reason. Perhaps you need a catch rider to show your horse, just to get you fired up and determined. I've seen that happen lots of
times.
