The show at Pikeville was good. I think they announced that there were 160+ entries. There were 1 or 2 classes that didn't have any entries, but all the other classes had several. There were some good open and lite shod classes with as many as 8 entries. The show went really fast and it was soo humid I was about to die before the sun went down. From the classes I got to see, I thought the judging was good overall. Congrats to all the winners. |

The judging was terrible. There was no ryhym or reason on how they judged those classes. One class that was judged, the first place was breaking above level.
The 2nd and 3rd were not breaking at all. One horse did not place at all in the pleasure racking class womens ,but placed 1st in the same class for mens.
The DQP did not even pick the horses feet up and look at them. There were rules broken every which way you could imagine. It was really bad

I didn't get to see much of the show and didn't even see all the classes that our horses showed in. So, I can't really comment on rule violations or overall judging of the entire show. The DQP didn't check our horses toward the end of the show but we had been back and forth thru there with the same 4 tp horses about 16 times. I figured he was sick of seeing us. |
